Welcome

Homework & Absences. Like most schools, we have had increased illness among students this fall. Students generally find it easy to make up a one day absence without getting homework before returning to school. If your son/daughter is absent for more than one day and you'd like homework, please call the attendance line and leave a message before 8:00 AM . Calling this early makes it possible for us to respond to your request.

Help! Help! Help!

First grade is in need of someone to host our grade level party. We would like to order Scholastic News for the students. This helps promote literacy and currant events. We use funds raised at the party to get this for your student. Please consider hosting our party. Thanks.

Our class is in need of 3 or 4 parents to help with part one of our Gingerbread Project on Dec. 10^th from 7:30-9:30 A.M.

Great stocking stuffers are glue, markers, and crayons. Most of us are running out of glue.

Thank you to the Clean Team. Our room always sparkles after you have been there.

Thank you to all the parents that filled out the yes and no slips and returned them to school. Our class recieved pencil grips, stickers and a one year magazine subscription for our room.

Dates to Remember:

November 23rd- Please send a vegetable to school to peel and dice for our stew!

November 24th - Thanksgiving celebration

December 4th - the next newsletter will be published

December 11th - all are welcome to decorate Gingerbread Houses with your student. Meet us in the Cafeteria at 8:15

January 27th - our class will lead the Mass

Please look for the purple letter in your envelope that explains Advent.

The weather will be getting colder outside. Please dress for the weather with hats and mittens. When there is snow on the ground students need to wear boots. We go out every day. Please put names on snow pants and boots.

Lunch is at 11:20-12:00

We celebrate birthdays in our classroom. Each student is given a birthday book that was written for them by their classmates along with a birthday pencil and crown. If you choose to bring a treat for the class please bring something that is individually wrapped and peanut free. Some children like to save their treat for later and this gives them the opportunity to do so. Please, no cupcakes, cake or icecream. Happy Birthday to all on their special day!
